“Crystal’s Favorite Things”
So glad I have my robot to figure these things out for
me. I really hate thinking. Anyway here’s my “Favorite Things” Signature
Style look.
First on the list... ROBOTS, duh. Doesn’t take artificial intelligence to
figure that one out. Here’s my little
robot.
And just in case you don’t believe me, I made a shirt for
MYSELF with this robot fabric. Now, that’s
the kind of love androids just don’t have.
Next on the list: SPARKLE!
I used this sparkle denim that I’ve been hoarding to make a shorts version
of the Lovely Ritas by Shwin. I LOVE
sparkle; it’s my favorite color.
Then there’s an element of interest- the neckline. Adding a
special something is another favorite of mine.
This is the McCalls 6312 pattern that I bought years ago because I just
HAD to have it. Like most Big 4, it runs
big, so I made a muslin first. It’s
always good to make a muslin with an unfamiliar pattern (tip of the day). I also did without the buttons and opted for
a zipper, and I made a circle skirt instead of a gathered skirt because it
seemed a bit more futuristic to me. I
think it’s stellar.
And of course, my absolute FAVORITE thing is having
fun. You can’t have more fun than
futuristic robots that sparkle (but not like stupid Twilight vampires). I mean, C'mon! I think the fun element is a great way to end the day...and end sewing along with Project Run & Play Season 9. I hope you liked what I’ve made and make sure
to vote for your favorite look by the real contestants- polls open tomorrow
(April 15)...Tax day...yikes. Get your
robot accountant on that stat!
And just in case you missed my last looks, here they are:

Week 2: Vacation

ReplyDeleteDeborah @ sew much to give
That is such a fun shirt! I love how you added the details, and it does look very robot-y. :) Great job on the rest of your looks, too. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are amazingly talented
ReplyDeleteI'd say your signature is Original... every piece you did for this season is just so creative and different. =D
ReplyDeleteI really love your style- it's original, it's fun, it's unexpected, it's personalized. Each piece you makes seems to hold a special meaning to the person it's created for. You don't just make clothing- you make clothing that speaks. Great job on the entire PR&P sew-along.
